‘Sperm Whale II’ to be screened in Kuala Lumpur

Iranian comedy film ‘Sperm Whale II’ directed by Saman Moqaddam will be screened in Malaysia, local media outlets report.

Released in cinemas across Iran on May 10, the film will be screened on Sunday July 2 in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

‘Sperm Whale 2’ tells the story of Roya, played by Iran actress Mahnaz Afshar, who is in the hope of  migrating to the US, but finally agreed to marry Arjang Senoubar (Reza Attaran) in her homeland.

The comedy saw a huge reception by the public, who related to the film’s nostalgia depicting the past four decades of Iran with references to important social and political developments.

‘Sperm Whale 2’ is a sequel to Moqaddam’s ‘The Whale’, which became a high grossing film in 2015.
